Tetramer Wins Navy Contract to Develop Low Loss Optical Polymers

Tetramer Technologies has been awarded a Phase I Navy SBIR contract (N00014-14-P-1052)  to develop commercially attractive, thermoplastic optical polymers that have ultra-low scattering loss for use in high end optics. Because these polymers will have decreased light scattering through the polymer lens, optical devices that use them will improved imaging capabilities, adding value to Tetramer customers.

These materials, by increasing resolution and by reducing the size of the optical materials, have many commercial applications and benefits, such as increasing the efficiency of night vision goggles and range finders for the military. In other high end imaging devices and consumer products, such as digital cameras, smartphones, and tablets, these materials can meet the market’s need for smaller, better quality devices.
