Tetramer Joins CWMD Consortium: Advancing the Fight Against Weapons of Mass Destruction

Tetramer Technologies is proud to announce its membership in the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Consortium. This partnership signifies Tetramer’s commitment to innovation and collaboration in the development of cutting-edge technologies aimed at countering WMDs.

Understanding the CWMD Consortium

The CWMD Consortium was established in response to the government’s need for advanced development efforts to support agencies focused on prototyping new technologies related to countering Weapons of Mass Destruction. This consortium, comprising industry, academic, and not-for-profit partners, works closely with the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) to bring innovative solutions to the forefront. The CWMD is managed by Advanced Technology International (ATI).

The CWMD Consortium's Focus

The CWMD Consortium has a clear focus on developing technologies to prevent WMD attacks, gain situational awareness, understand adversary actions, and protect individuals and groups. These technologies encompass a wide range of crucial areas such as:

The CWMD Consortium continues to grow as a diverse group of interested parties, including representatives from large businesses, small businesses, government contractors, academic research institutions, and not-for-profit organizations. This inclusive approach ensures that a wide range of expertise is brought to the table in the technology areas specifically related to the JPEO-CBRND mission.

Tetramer’s Related Programs

Tetramer’s membership with the CWMD Consortium reflects its dedication to advancing technologies to counter WMDs. Through this partnership, Tetramer aims to contribute innovative solutions that support the mission of the JPEO-CBRND.

Tetramer’s current development program focuses on innovative adsorbent materials employing Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs). These materials are engineered in bead form to be incorporated into fabrics for the protection of soldiers facing chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats.

The materials not only adsorb chemical warfare agents (CWAs) but also degrade them into non-toxic compounds on contact. This technology holds promise for both military protective gear and civilian applications like industrial protective wear. Current work is funded in part by the US Department of Defense Joint Science and Technology Office for Chemical and Biological Defense.

“Tetramer is proud to join the CWMD, where collaboration with industry and engagement with military decision-makers aligns with our commitment to advancing protective materials. This partnership will undoubtedly enhance the impact of our current work and likelihood that these promising materials make their way to the battlefield to safeguard the warfighter against chemical and biological threats."

As Tetramer partners with the CWMD Consortium, our team is excited to be part of a community dedicated to innovation and security. If you’re curious about Tetramer’s bead technology and its applications, we welcome your inquiries and ideas. Reach out to us today to explore the possibilities and join us in our mission to enhance security through innovation.
